He said to them all, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me."
 - Jesus
The 2000 Year Old Catholic Apostolic Church
"Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age"

When Jesus lived on the earth He organized His Church (CCC 813) so that all people could receive His Word (John 1:1-14), so that we could all return to God’s love and grace. After Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, His apostles continued to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit so that they could continue the mission of bringing Christ to others such as you and I. Jesus said His Church would be "the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid" (Matt. 5:14).

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". (Mt 16:18)

Most of today's Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Church
the Mother Church, the Catholic Church.

The line of popes can be traced back in unbroken succession to Peter himself. For two thousand years the Catholic Church has remained intact, faithfully protecting and teaching the scriptures through Apostolic succession , the living Word of God to us.

How many Christian sects claim the authority of Jesus? Many claim to be the one and only true Church of Christ, each interpreting the Word of God differently. The Catholic Church is the only Church that has existed from the time of Jesus. It is refreshing to know that the Church was not built on another’s perceived fall. Learned Catholics already know they are a fallen people, held up only by the power of Christ. The Catholic faith is set apart as it is the genuine article.

Opposition against the Church is not new. It has persisted throughout the ages. It is loved, and it is hated. Opposition comes not only from outside the Church but from inside as well. For instance, the parable of the prodigal son is not to be understood as something that happened outside Church walls, but rather what takes place within these walls. Every family has its own problems with which to deal. The community of the Catholic Church is a very large family, as one-sixth of the human race belongs to the Catholic faith. We, too, have many problems with which to deal. Because Jesus is at the core of our faith, He gives us the tools through the Sacraments to deal with these problems. We can call on His healing nature, His love, His forgiveness and His reconciliation – tools every family needs to make it in good times, in bad times, in times of suffering.

The Church throughout the last two millennia has survived neither because of her wise leaders nor the succession of the popes. We have had some unwise leaders, and many within the Church have been hurt. Yes, it is intriguing to see this line of succession for the first time, to read the Church fathers’ writings and compare them to scripture, to ponder all that. But as glorious as that might seem, you can easily miss the point. The arrival of Jesus into our lives today has come from the guidance of the most Holy Spirit, given to the apostles at Pentecost to guide the Church through rough waters as well as the calm. The Holy Spirit given to us by the Father through His son Jesus has kept the light burning on the hill for all to witness, and then to find.

History of the Church

The Church is One
(Rom. 12:5, 1 Cor. 10:17, 12:13 (CCC 813-822)

Humans can marry, look each other in the eye, take their vows in the presence of the Lord, and then at will get a divorce. Jesus’ love is not from below but rather from above. When Jesus vows to be faithful to His Church, Jesus remains faithful to His Church (Matt. 28:19-20). The Bible says the Church is the Bride of Christ in good times as well as in bad times! He is the proper vow; He is the devotion. He will never divorce His bride. It's not in His nature (Eph. 5:29-30).

Excerpt from the Catechism / CCC 172-175

172 Through the centuries, in so many languages, cultures, peoples and nations, the Church has constantly confessed this one faith, received from the one Lord, transmitted by one Baptism, and grounded in the conviction that all people have only one God and Father.58 St. Irenaeus of Lyons, a witness of this faith, declared:

173 "Indeed, the Church, though scattered throughout the whole world, even to the ends of the earth, having received the faith from the apostles and their disciples. . . guards [this preaching and faith] with care, as dwelling in but a single house, and similarly believes as if having but one soul and a single heart, and preaches, teaches and hands on this faith with a unanimous voice, as if possessing only one mouth."59

174 "For though languages differ throughout the world, the content of the Tradition is one and the same. The Churches established in Germany have no other faith or Tradition, nor do those of the Iberians, nor those of the Celts, nor those of the East, of Egypt, of Libya, nor those established at the center of the world. . ."60 The Church's message "is true and solid, in which one and the same way of salvation appears throughout the whole world."61

175 "We guard with care the faith that we have received from the Church, for without ceasing, under the action of God's Spirit, this deposit of great price, as if in an excellent vessel, is constantly being renewed and causes the very vessel that contains it to be renewed."62

“Beloved, although I was making every effort to write to you about our common salvation, I now feel a need to write to encourage you to contend for the faith that was once for all handed down to the holy ones” (Jude 3). This is the unity of belief to which Scripture calls us (Phil.1:27,2:2). Regardless of what one may have heard about the Catholic faith, its doctrine, the Scriptures have never been changed. Again this can be attributed only to the Holy Spirit that Christ gave His Church for a guide. All other Christian faiths that have splintered from the Catholic Church received this doctrine, this Scripture from the Catholic Church, the Bride of Christ, the Mother Church. Jesus laid down His life for His Church; there is no greater act of love! Jesus said: "I will be with you always"

Paschal Mystery (CCC 571) Revelation as to the paschal mystery is given one soul at a time. For two thousand years the Church has remained faithful to the deposit of faith: a tribute merited only by the Holy Spirit, not by mere men.
